Whitney Houston's last film 'Sparkle' will be released this summer.
The 'I Have Nothing' singer, who died suddenly on Saturday (February 11), starred alongside Jordin Sparks in the remake of the 1976 film that was inspired by the Supremes.
Whitney's appearance was tipped as the start of an acting comeback for the 48-year-old, as she previously hinted that she was set to star in the sequel to 'Waiting To Exhale'.
The movie tells the story of a mother of three sisters in the same music group, and it follows the family and touches on the troubles of drugs and fame.
Whitney will also appear on the soundtrack, having recorded a number of songs and she also acted as an executive producer.
"She started to take on a mother-type role, especially with Jordin (Sparks)," producer Curtis Wallace told the Detroit News. "She was spending time with her and giving her advice."
"I was surprised at how funny she was," he added. "I remember how much fun she was to be around on set. One night, like many, we were working late, it was 2 or 3am and she was making up songs getting everyone laughing."
