Details from Whitney Houston's autopsy will not be publicly released following a request from the police.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told reporters Sunday afternoon that the toxicology results will take weeks and they were needed to determine how the 'I Will Always Love You' singer died suddenly this weekend.
While there were no signs of trauma on Whitney's body, Dr Winter did not release any further details about what had been found in the singer's room but did say that officials would not be ruling out any potential causes of death just yet.
It has been reported that detectives investigating the singer's death are looking into the theory that Whitney had accidentally drowned in the bath at the Beverly Hilton hotel after taking prescription drugs following two nights of partying heavily.
Whitney, 48, had a troubled history with addiction and she was found in her bathroom by two bodyguards, her hairdresser and stylist with her head under the water.
The entourage got concerned when she was in the bathroom for more than an hour. No illegal drugs were found in Whitney's suite, apart from prescription drugs.
Anti-anxiety drugs Valium, lorazepam and Xanax are rumoured to have been found in the suite.
Upon arrival paramedics tried to resuscitate Whitney for 20 minutes before they pronounced her dead at 3.55pm (11.55pm) on Saturday.
She is said to have spoken to her mother Cissy Houston just half an hour before her death.
