In tonight's episode of The Only Way Is Essex, the boys decide to go on a weekend away to the seaside, which gives new castmember Ricky Rayment the perfect opportunity to chat up a bikini-clad Lydia Bright at Sam Faiers Hawaiian-themed housewarming party.
James ‘Arg’ Argent is upset about the party and still hung up over Lydia Bright, his girlfriend of four years, admitting to being distressed at the idea of her “in her bra and knickers with hot boys around her.”
Despite asking Sam not to invite Lydia to her swimwear party, Sam does anyway, where a “young, free, single and alive” Lydia ends up flirting with new TOWIE hottie Ricky ‘The Captain’ Rayment.
Arg and Lydia Bright have had a drama-filled few weeks, and after Lydia broke up with him due to cheating rumours, Arg has scarcely left the poor girl alone.
Even though he’s passionately denied ever cheating on the blonde reality star, Arg confesses to Sam that he’s snogged a few girls, but only when the couple were “on little breaks.”
Before leaving on the trip with the boys, Arg makes another failed attempt to talk to Lydia, who sharply refuses to speak with him and tells him off for the disrespectful comments he made about her to co-star Gemma, which included: “If I really wanted to do I could stay at hers tonight and her knickers would be around her ankles.”
Although Arg still holds out hope for a reconciliation, it’s clear that Lydia is moving on with her life, and she tells to the girls: “I don’t want to get in another relationship, but if I meet someone I’m not going to hold back.”
As if by magic, new cast member and “Italian Stallion” Ricky appears at the party, who Lydia admits to fancying, and the two manage to have some private time together as they chat in the hot tub.
Ricky confesses to Lydia that he always thought her overprotective boyfriend “held her back” and Lydia agrees that Arg never liked her having any boy mates.
It's obvious that the two are getting on well, and confident Ricky suggests that maybe they could go to Ibiza in May for the opening parties or away to New York together, and although he proposes they go away “as mates” his romantic intentions are pretty clear!
