Whitney Houston's revealed that her greatest inspiration was her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, the star revealed in her last ever television interview.
In what will perhaps be a comfort to her family, especially her 18 year old daughter the singer talked emotionally of the important role they played in her life.
Whitney said: “It is a blessing that I have a mother who is very strong and a family that surround me and constantly tell me that they love me. And my daughter is my greatest inspiration. She loves me.”
She added: "I've got some good saints out there that pray for me constantly."
"You got to have that support. It's a major strength."
The 48 year-old, who died yesterday (Feb 11) in Los Angeles talked about her new movie Sparkle in the interview filmed in November and how she felt emotionally connected to the role of a single mother.
She told Access Hollywood: “I have an 18-year-old daughter.”
“I just felt the passion for it. And when it was suggested that I play the mother I thought I could do this. I’ve had a lot of practice.”
The singer was pronounced dead yesterday at her hotel suite at the Beverley Hilton after attempts by emergency services to save her life, failed.
The ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer also talked about her struggle in the spotlight and appeared to be getting her life together after a long struggle with drug addiction.
She said: "I've been in the industry for 30 years. There'll be ups and there'll be the downs. But you believe in your faith and your determination. People who encourage you to do and be the best you can.”
It was clear her career was still important to her even after three decades in the business, she added finally: “I feel honored. I feel humbled that I’m still able to do what I do."
Despite her seemingly positive attitude Whitney may have succumbed to her addiction. It has been widely reported that prescription drugs were found near the body of the singer when she was discovered by a security guard.
