Harry Styles has slammed those who were against his romance with Caroline Flack for ruining their relationship, admitting that in the end “it wasn't worth the hassle.”
Despite the 15 year age gap the couple embarked on an ill-fated romance after meeting through The X Factor last October but split in January this year after fierce criticism of their relationship drove them apart.
According to The People, the 'One Direction' stud said: “Other people didn't want it to work, in the end we decided to give up on it.”
Celebrity cougar Caroline received death threats from One Direction fans after details of their affair emerged and even her fellow celebrities turned on her, labelling her relationship with the teenager ‘sick’.
Though they never officially confirmed they were an item teen heartthrob Harry took to Twitter earlier this month to defend his ex, he tweeted: “Please know I didn’t ‘dump’ Caroline. This was a mutual decision. She is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know.”
The ‘You Don’t Know Your Beautiful’ singer has seen his popularity soar thanks to a promotional tour of the US and with his work commitments, Harry admitted that the relationship with the 32 year-old wasn’t worth it.
A source told The People: “It really was a serious relationship. But in the end it wasn't worth the hassle.”
