Whitney Houston died after drowning in her hotel bath tub, according to reports out today (Feb 12).
The pop singer was found dead in her Beverly Hills Hilton hotel room last night (Feb 11). She was staying in the hotel ahead of Clive Davis pre-Grammy Awards party which she was due to perform at. However, reports emerging claim that Houston's bodyguard found her dead in the bath with prescription pills also discovered in her room.
According to TMZ the alarm was raised when Whitney failed to answer her hotel room door. A female hairdresser went in to check on Whitney and immediately screamed.
A source told TMZ: "one of the bodyguards came running in and pulled her out of the tub."
"Whitney's face was below the water and her legs were up ... like she had slid down the back of the tub."
According to the Daily Mail: "Officials rushed to the room on the fourth floor where she was staying as a guest, where they found security staff and firemen attempting to revive her using CPR.Life-saving attempts proved unsuccessful after 20 minutes, and she was pronounced dead at 3.55pm."
A spoeksman added: 'no obvious signs of foul play and no obvious signs of a cause of death'
