Whitney Houston is the latest name linked to The X Factor USA judging panel for its upcoming second season.
The 'My Love Is Your Love' hitmaker, who will return to the big screen this year in a remake of 'Sparkle' alongside American Idol's Jordin Sparks, is alleged by The Hollywood Reporter to have been approached by bosses.
The news comes just days after Simon Cowell said the show doesn't necessarily need A-listers on the panel to succeed.
Whitney, who has been reportedly on the brink of bankruptcy, is thought to be giving the offer serious consideration in a bid to rescue her finances.
She appeared on the UK edition of the show in 2009 during Diva Week, which she followed up with a live performance of her single 'Million Dollar Bill'.
It was the same episode in which Cheryl Cole launched her solo career with 'Fight For This Love', and saw Whitney suffer a wardrobe malfunction midway through her performance.
