Surprise Suprise is back after a hiatus of nearly 15 years! ITV are rebooting the feelgood show, but with popular presenter Holly Willoughby at the helm.
The series originally starred Liverpudlian sweetheart Cilla Black, who famously sung the theme tune to Surprise Surprise at the end of each show.
Although Holly won't be displaying her vocal talents, the show will follow its original formula, with trademark practical jokes, prank phone calls, as well as the characteristically heartwarming features, such as bringing distant relatives back together.
A inside source commented to The Sun: "Surprise Surprise was a big hit when it aired in the Eighties and Nineties and viewers remember it fondly.
"We'll be updating the show and giving it a modern twist but the essence will still be the same. Some of the best episodes were when we reunited family members who hadn't seen each other for decades so we'll hopefully be doing that again."
Holly recently left ITV bosses in a jam after signing up to present rival BBC1 show The Voice, leaving her Dancing On Ice co-presenter Phillip Schofield hosting the show on his own. Luckily ITV were able to quickly bring in Christine Bleakley, although her reception on the show has been rather frosty.
Despite the blonde presenter leaving the channel and Dancing On Ice in hot water, an ITV source has confirmed: "Holly is still very much in the frame to do it."
The first show will air in the autumn and if successful, ITV will commission a series or at the very least several specials.
