A man convicted of stalking pop icon Madonna has escaped from a psychiatric hospital according to Los Angeles police.
Robert Dewey Hoskins was sentenced to ten years in prison in 1996 for threatening to 'slice' the singer's throat 'from ear to ear' and breaking into her home.
After being released, he spent time in hospital before being arrested last July. He was subsequently sent to the Norwalk facility he has now escaped from.
"Hoskins is highly psychotic when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies," a spokesperson told The AP. "He could be in the Los Angeles area."
During Hoskins' trial in 1996, Madonna testified to having nightmares about the break in.
The 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' singer - who performed during the half-time show during this year's Super Bowl - is currently preparing for her 'MDNA' tour.
Tickets for Madonna's UK tour date - including London's Hyde Park, have gone on sale today (Feb 10). Click here for more information.
