Naomi Watts has confirmed that she has landed the role of Princess Diana in the new movie 'Caught In Flight'.
As previously reported the actress, who stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 'J.Edgar', has claimed that the role is "such an honour" but now it has emerged that the movie will be focussing on just the last two years of Diana's life.
It was previously claimed that the movie, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, would tell the story of the 11 years after the birth of Prince Harry and be based on her former bodyguard Ken Wharfe's book Diana: Closely Guarded Secret but now it has been reported that the film will actually focus on her relationship with the heart surgeon Hasnat Khan.
Princess Diana had been dating Khan from 1995 right up to a couple of months before her death in August 1997, when she was actually with Dodi Al Fayed.
Stars including Carey Mulligan and Charlize Theron were in the running of the 'iconic' role, but 43-year-old Naomi pipped them to the post.
