Chris Brown is planning an over the top, memorable performance for this year’s Grammy Award Ceremony in the hope it will make people finally forget about his past.
It is the first time Chris has been invited to the awards after he was charged with assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna following a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009, on the eve of the actual ceremony.
According to Radar Online that the 22-year-old has been planning a spectacular show for the audience.
An insider revealed: “Chris has been rehearsing non-stop for the performance.”
“He wants to give the audience and his fans an over top the performance. Chris has put a lot of pressure on himself to deliver a memorable performance, and he will deliver, he always does."
The ‘Champion’ singer is hoping that an amazing performance will finally put the last three years behind him and is even bringing his mum along to prove that he is a changed man.
The source continued: “Chris is hopeful that his performance will close that chapter on his life. He will be bringing his mom to the awards ceremony, she is his biggest fan, and he has told her he is dedicating his performance to her."
Chris, who is also nominated for three Grammys on the night will be careful to stay away from ex-girlfriend Rihanna who is also nominated and performing.
Despite rumours that the two have reconciled he doesn’t want the pressure of a public run-in with his ex, especially on such a big night.
"Rihanna and Chris' handlers will keep them apart during the ceremony, they just don't want to detract from the awards. Chris and Rihanna have absolutely been spending time together, but they keep it far from prying eyes." The source added.
