It’s official, the 14 month marriage of Katy Perry and Russell Brand is over. The pair signed divorce papers in Los Angeles yesterday, with the former Mrs Brand even adding a smiley face to her signature.
No wonder the ‘I kissed a girl’ star was happy as the divorce papers have revealed that the star will hang on to her fortune. She will also return to her former name, Katy Hudson after changing it to Brand after her marriage.
Under Californian law Katy was set to loose half of her $20 million fortune as they failed to sign a pre-nup but the couple have reached an amicable settlement.
According to Radar Online the court documents state: "The parties have entered into a comprehensive written settlement of all issues, including, without limitation, with respect to the property to be confirmed or assigned to each party."
The British comic also will not receive spousal support from his former wife, though he is entitled to it.
