Karl Lagerfeld probably wasn't expecting the world to rise up against him after calling Adele, the nation's sweetheart, "too fat"...
Adele, for starters, has stated that she is "proud" of her image; she feels that she represents real women and does not want to starve herself trying to become the size of the catwalk model Lagerfeld prefers.
Adele spoke out about her weight to People magazine: "I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that."
And it's not just Adele fighting back! Many fashion lines for fuller women are saying that they're "done with him", whilst American PR guru Kelly Cutrone is calling for a mass boycott of the fashion designer's work:
‘If you love Adele then boycott Chanel .’
Whether she's curvy or not, Lagerfeld can't deny that the "Someone Like You" singer is extremely talented. Although Adele has also come under criticism from Noel Gallagher, who has predicted her career will be over before she knows it.
Luckily for all of us real girls, Adele has coined the perfect mantra to pull out when people seem set on making you feel bad:
"I enjoy being me; I always have done. I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, you know, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I just don’t want that in my life."
Bravo Adele!
We're not the only ones who love Adele...
