Tonight marks a very important occasion for the beautiful Duchess of Cambridge; she out on a royal engagement... and she's flying SOLO!
We always love an excuse to rave about Kate Middleton and, from what we're heard on the grapevine, her first solo royal outing seems to be one worth talking about!
The Duchess has headed to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square to check out the Lucian Freud portrait exhibition. It's a pretty big deal for Kate; not only is it her first solo royal outing, but she's also here as a patron of the NPG itself.
She became a patron last year and, for the girl with a degree in Art History, we bet it's a dream come true. She's also said to be a big fan of Lucian Freud and is to be treated to a private viewing of his work, featuring his most important portraits from the 1940’s right through to the one he was painting shortly before he died in 2011.
Grazia have reported that Kate looks effortlessly elegant, dressed in a grey coat dress and black court shoes. Being the style icon she now is, it makes sense that she's accessoriesed to the max; waist-cinching belt and some simple diamond jewellery means that she's looking royally fabulous for the occasion! No wonder she made the International Best Dressed list of 2011.
