Channing Tatum loses a lot of his clothes in The Vow and he has an inkling that not all of them were strictly necessary...
Every Valentine's Day needs a romantic film to go along with it and we could do a lot worse than The Vow; based on a true story, it follows Leo (Tatum) as he tries to win his wife's heart again after she suffers severe memory loss.
It's like The Notebook, basically, but with plenty of tears, tugging of the heartstrings and (ahem) topless Tatum.
Channing, famed for his hot bod, told E! Online that he wasn't exactly surprised when he found he had to get that tee off during shooting:
"It was very gratuitous. It was like, 'Do I really need to have my shirt off to take out the garbage while eating a piece of pizza and picking up a cat?' Shirtless? Was that really necessary?"
Yes Channing, it was. Don't be so difficult! He doesn't just take his top off in The Vow, however; his pants get lost along the way as well. Channing preferred the butt-baring as he felt it was integral to the story and to the characters' relationship:
"That wasn't gratuitous. That was necessary."
That's the attitude!
Luckily, Tatum's wife quite enjoys her hubby stripping off on screen and feels any picture with his bare naked bottom in it is bound to be a huge success:
"It's completely screen-worthy... It's definitely going to be something people rewind and play."
Wow, that's some high recommendation there. Guess we better do as Mrs Tatum says and hit up cinemas to ogle Channing's butt just as soon as The Vow hits our screens...
