Denise Welch has contacted the police over abusive messages she has received since announcing her split from husband Tim Healy.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner confirmed the end of the 23-year-old marriage on Loose Women on Monday (February 6), a move which former co-star Coleen Nolan called "brave".
Responding to one user who called her a "disgusting w***e pig" and added "hope your kids euthanise you in a yr or two (sic)", she said "How proud your parents must be of you
"Please stop being horrible to people you don't know. You'll be much happier x"
She later added: "By the way, my work have reported you to the police and they've traced you. Have a good day".
The former actress had said of the split on Monday: "We've actually become better friends since we've made the decision. We're all just going to move forward as a family. Tim and I are still going to be co-parents and we love each other very much."
