The Military Wives choir dethroned X Factor winners Little Mix in December to score the 2011 Christmas Number One, and the fastest-selling single this century.

Next month they will do battle with another finalist from the talent show, as their debut album meets new material by Marcus Collins in the charts.

Speaking on Sky News this morning, the ladies and their choirmaster Gareth Malone announced their big plans whilst celebrating raising over half a million pounds with their single 'Wherever You Are'.

Member Laura Thompson said: "It's just amazing, I'm so proud to be part of something that helps other people, I'm in awe."

Susie Brady, whose husband and son are serving marines, added: "Obviously we didn't expect any of this so to have a single and an album and to raise so much for charities that are so personal for us - I'm over the moon."

Their record In My Dreams is released in time for Mother's Day on March 5 - just one week ahead of Collins' self-titled LP on March 12.

However, the scheduling does mean that the tracks recorded by the choir for their full-length disc will be eligible to chart against the X Factor runner-up's single 'Seven Nation Army', which is available to download on March 4.

The ensemble's official Twitter account revealed today that the tracklisting will include covers of Adele and Bob Dylan's 'Make You Feel My Love', U2's 'With Or Without You', Coldplay's 'Fix You', and the showtune 'On My Own'.

Can they fend off another X Factor graduate?
