Kelly Clarkson Performs At Super Bowl: 'I've Never Been More Nervous In My Life'

Kelly Clarkson has admitted she was wracked with nerves before performing at the Super Bowl last night.

The original American Idol performed the US National Anthem in front of millions of viewers around the world prior to the game in Indianapolis.

Writing on her Twitter account afterwards, she said: "Guess what ....I've never been more nervous in my life than singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl tonight ....wow that was almost not fun I was so nervous!

"Fun night overall though! Thank you everybody for all of the nice things you're saying about my performance! I really appreciate it :)"

Her rendition was universally praised on the social networking site, with fellow singer Pink writing: "Kelly Clarkson KiLleD the national anthem. Show em' how it's done girl!!!! (sic)"

She responded: "Um ....this just made my year....& it's only February:)"

Last year the anthem was sung by Christina Aguilera, who famously fluffed her lines.
