What a difference a year makes for Cheryl Cole! This time last year Simon Cowell was about to give the star her marching orders from the X Factor USA, and now, Simon is begging for Cheryl to return to the X Factor.
Having gone on an axing spree on the X Factor USA last week (Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul all lost their jobs), reports have now suggested that Simon is keen to do the same with the UK version and is looking to give Kelly Rowland the boot in favour of Cheryl.
A source told the Mirror: "Cheryl is part of The X Factor family. Formal discussions have yet to take place but if she wants to come back she would be welcomed with open arms."
An X Factor insider added that they'd love to have the Geordie star back on the show.
"We’d welcome her with open arms. She was hugely popular and she’s totally gorgeous. We’d love to have her back."
However, they might have a fight on their hands after Cheryl's manager and friend, will.i.am declared war on Simon.
