Brad Pitt used to smoke so much weed that he “wasn’t participating in life,” the actor has revealed.
Pitt, who is nominated for best actor at this year’s Academy Awards for his role in ‘Moneyball,’ said his habit during the '90s was having a detrimental affect on his career so he quit.
"I'd smoked a lot of weed. I was professional at it. I wasn't participating in life. I was smoking myself into a doughnut, a mollusc. I got disgusted with it," he told The Guardian.
"At the end I came to the very simple conclusion that I wanted to make things and be a part of stories that were personal and that I could bring value to and if I got this opportunity, to contribute something to the zeitgeist of film-making."
The 48-year-old said his priorities also changed when he became a father of six with partner Angelina Jolie who he met on the set of their film ‘Mr and Mrs Smith.’
“That was a monumental change for reasons more than one. Six plus one, to be exact,” he said.
