Lady Gaga might want to stick to music, as her latest venture New York eatery Joanne Trattoria has been sensationally slammed by a top critic.
The new restaurant that opened on Wednesday (February 1) was visited by food critic Steve Cuzzo, who wrote that the food was "unspeakably fatty" and the staff were "clueless".
Lady Gaga's restaurant is actually a family run restaurant with her parents Cynthia and Joseph at the helm, so the words will sting, especially as the food critic wrote: "You'll gaga on the food at Gagas".
In the New York Post newspaper, he wrote: "You don't expect a brand-new eatery to be running on all cylinders. But Joanne, owned by the pop superstar's parents, last night was running mainly on acrid-smelling burnt vinegar wafting intermittently through the raucous dining room.
"Clueless busboys wandered the floor, performing no other function than to pour tap water into sparkling."
After a 50-minute wait for food, he complained that it had been "overpriced" and his calamari was "the worst I've had in a lifetime of squid-mongering".
The critic claims that his opinion and words were justified especially because of Gaga's promotion ahead of the opening night.
"The Germanottas, [Art] Smith [chef] and Gaga herself, with the windiest hype machine east of the Pacific, have been trumpeting the joint for months. For Day One, couldn't they at least get some people who act like they've seen the inside of a restaurant before?"
