Gossip Girl has just celebrated their 100th episode, but it seems like some things never change, as Gossip Girl's executive producer Josh Safran confirms that there is more in store for Chuck and Blair, despite her currently being torn between Louis and Dan.

In the 100th episode of the popular Manhattan drama, Chuck (Ed Westwick) warned Blair (Leighton Meester) not to marry Prince Louis of Monaco (Hugo Becker), but she stubbornly married him anyway.

Finding out that her marriage is just for show, Blair fled the reception with former enemy Dan (played by Penn Padgley), but this doesn't mean it is all over for star-crossed lovers Blair and Chuck.

Executive producer Josh Safran has publicly hinted at the future of Chuck and Blair, explaining to TV Guide: "Chuck and Blair are never over. There's always been a thorn in the side of Chuck somewhere. Maybe it'll be Dan, maybe it'll be someone else."

Safran added: "It's a very tortured relationship for both of them. And I think in a weird way some people love that torture and sometimes people can't stand that torture. That's going to be sort of the balance for what happens [next]."

Commenting on Chuck's uncharacteristic decision to change for the better, Safran explained: "We do believe that Chuck has learned, and is still continuing to learn, that his evolution is real, that it's not so easily lost or so easily gained."

"Although he will continue to be tested, I definitely think he approaches these tests now from, 'I really don't want to slide back' as opposed to, 'Oh, it's so easy to slide back, I'm just going to go do it'."
