Rumours of a Spice Girl reunion for the Queen's jubilee have been but to rest, as Victoria Beckham has stated that she is just "too busy" to take part...
Yesterday was a good day for fans of former girlband, The Spice Girls, wasn't it? News had broken that a reunion was in motion for the Queen's Diamon Jubilee. We all believed that our prayers had been answered, and that we would see Posh, Baby, Sporty, Scary and Ginger (genuinely her nickname) spice up our lives once again.
And then today, oh gloomy Sunday that it is, the whole dream was shattered.
Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton are all on board for the performance, but Victoria Beckham is proving a little more tricky to convince.
A source has explained to the Sunday Mirror that Victoria is simply too busy to get involved:
"All the girls are desperate for some Spice action except Posh who is simply too busy - she loves the girls and wants to support them and the fans but doesn’t see how she has the time when her fashion business is so successful."
Now, we love Victoria Beckham. We genuinely do. But, in all honesty, would it matter so much if she wasn't there? If you look back on all the Spice Girl songs and videos, the role of Posh Spice was mainly preening and throwing a few shapes on the dancefloor. The other girls handled the vocals. And, let's face it, in the music industry it is ALL about the vocals.
Maybe we'll have a word with Gary Barlow, who's organising the event, and try to get him round to our way of thinking. We're desperate for a Spice reunion at Buckingham Palace this summer.
