Madonna is known for being the toughest and hardest working woman in pop so the audience was understandably shocked when the singer broke down at a screening for her film 'W.E' in New York this week.
The 53 year-old was speaking about her mother at the Ziegfeld Theatre when she became inconsolable.
According to The Metro the ‘Like a Prayer’ singer said: “I’m sorry if I cry. I’m just so exhausted from Super Bowl rehearsals."
"I’m not usually a very sentimental person. Don’t hold it against me.” She added.
The singer has had a hard few weeks. Her film ‘W.E’ has been panned by critics and despite winning a Golden Globe for best original song, ‘Masterpiece’ she had to endure hateful comments from Elton John and David Furnish who said the result was a fix.
It has not only been movies that have kept the queen of pop busy, she has a new album out soon and will be performing for 162 million people at the Superbowl half-time show on 5th February.
The mother of four recently revealed the stress she is under as she prepares for the performance.
She admitted: “I have eight minutes to set up my stage, 12 minutes to put on the greatest show on Earth and seven minutes to take it down so the football field is clean for the second half.”
