Like any father Brad Pitt wants to protect his children and despite encouraging his brood to be independent, the actor is secretly scared of the attention tom-boy Shiloh receives.
The little girl caused quite a stir when she stepped out sporting a very short haircut this weekend and the actor fears she will be bullied because of her tom-boy looks.
The couple's eldest biological child Shiloh, who looks the spitting image of her father Brad, was spotted on a recent trip to the Studio City Market in Los Angeles with mum Angelina Jolie and two of her brothers. Yet onlookers were confused as to whether it was Shiloh or her younger brother Knox.
Despite their alternative lifestyle, the couple are terrified that Shiloh will be bullied by other children and fear her boyish behaviour and looks will set her out for teasing.
An insider told Life & Style: "It would crush Brad if one of his kids was picked on. Shiloh's already different -- being the daughter of superstars -- and she may already feel ostracized because of that."
Brad, 48, who is nominated for Leading Actor at the Oscars next month, has admitted in the past that he wants his children to feel free to create their own identity: “I just don't want to encumber them in any way."
"I want [my kids] to explore that innocence as long as possible and find out what's really interesting to them," he added.
But with all the interest that surrounds his daughter, the 'Moneyball' actor fears that as she gets older it will start to seriously affect her.
The actor is also considering marrying long-term love Angelina after pressure from the children marking another step towards conformity for the golden couple.
