Move over vocalists, it's time for the DJ to shine...
Simon Cowell loves a good talent show, doesn't he? So it comes as no surprise that he has a brand-new venture up his sleeve.
"DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show."
His new venture seeks to hunt down a "DJ superstar" and "capture the incredible rise of the DJ penomena". In short, he intends to make money. Lots of money!
The working title hasn't been confirmed yet, but we're presuming it'll be something along the lines of 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life'. However, more excitingly, this new show is a joint venture between SYCO Entertainment and Will and Jada Smith's company Overbrook Entertainment.
Will Smith, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air? Incredible.
Jada Pinkett-Smith had this to say on the subject:
"This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent. I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell, the Sony team, and my partner Miguel Melendez, on behalf of the Overbrook family."
An international talent show, seeking out amazing DJs from all over the globe? With the Smiths AND Simon Cowell backing the venture?
It's going to be ridiculously good.
See Simon kick back on a yacht with his fave gal pals
