He's known all over the world and appears to us, to be living the ultimate celebrity dream of having countless lucrative advertising deals. However it appears as though David Beckham never wanted any of it after revealing that he never wanted to be famous.
Claiming that all he wanted to do was to play football, the LA Galaxy footballer, who is married to former Spice Girl Victoria, told Men's Health magazine:
"I never wanted to be famous. I was never interested in anything else apart from becoming a footballer."
Admitting that he knows he doesn't have long left to play professional football before he retires, the 36 year-old said:
"I know what my limits are, what I can achieve and which passes I can play. So that’s been my game over the last few years: I have adapted to my age, different situations and the position that I’m playing in.
"I still love playing; I still love being part of a team. Right now I’m not even thinking about retiring."
The father of four revealed in a recent interview that he would like his three sons to protect their sister, Harper.
