Noel Gallagher is set to be hailed as a Godlike Genius at this year's NME Awards. Take that Liam!
When the two Gallagher brothers took their squabbling to the extreme and broke up Oasis, we all were a little taken aback. No more Oasis. The end of an era, as it were.
But Noel Gallagher didn't take the band's break-up sitting down. Instead, he got busy with an impressive solo career and his debut album, 'High Flying Birds', soared to the top of the charts last year.
And it seems that the folks at NME have taken note of his efforts; the singer will be awarded the gong for Godlike Genius at this year's award ceremony.
Noel has, in his typically humble and modest fashion, thanked them for the honour:
"I would like to thank NME for bestowing upon me such a great accolade. I have dreamt of this moment since I was 43 years old. I accept I am now a genius, just like God"
