After months of staying silent about the breakdown of her 72 day marriage to Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian has opened up about it to TV presenter Kelly Ripa.
Appearing as a guest co-host on Live! With Kelly, Kim revealed that she wasn't expecting the "backlash" she got after announcing that she was separating from Kris.
She said: "I really didn't think that following my heart would create this much backlash."
The reality TV beauty also shot down the reports that her marriage was purely for money, saying: "I think me being such a hopeless romantic I wanted to believe in something so badly. If this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone claimed we made from the wedding and it was just for TV, I'm a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer. This is a bad business decision, do you know what I mean?
"If you really think about it it doesn't make sense that everyone says that."
Asked why she gave up so quickly after saying 'I Do' to Kris, Kim, who admitted that she didn't want to be married any more in the latest episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, replied:
"I definitely tried everything I felt like I could, but I would also hear stories of people who had kids and started this life and stayed married for years and it ended up not working out. I just felt like if I don't feel in my heart this is right then why wait years to have the same result?"
