Simon Cowell may have only just returned to Britain’s Got Talent but the 53 year old music mogul has already come out fighting as he slams the BBC for pitting new talent show The Voice against the ITV show.

The BBC have scheduled the new show in the same slot as Britain’s Got Talent and according to the Metro the music mogul has seen it as a declaration of war.

He told People Magazine: “They have gone head to head with us.”

“If they want a competition we'll make it a competition.”

Simon may have the fighting talk but it is the BBC that has triumphed recently in the ratings with Strictly Come Dancing repeatedly beating rival The X Factor for the top spot on a Saturday night last Autumn.

The BBC’s decision to pit its new show against the established Britain’s Got Talent may be out of revenge for poaching Strictly judge Alesha Dixon. The singer was revealed as the newest addition to the panel alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and comedian David Walliams.Simon has returned to the ITV show after it’s disappointing viewing figures last year.

The Voice is set to begin in the spring and is based on the hugely popular US show. Tom Jones, Jessie J Will.I.Am and The Script's Danny O'Donoghue are set to star as mentors to the contestants.

The music guru has another fight on his hands as he has recently revealed he is trying to kick his smoking habit.
