Could Sir Paul McCartney be set to take on a part in the London 2012 Olympics?

The more we hear about the London Olympics 2012, the more we think that they sound like they're set to be absolutely amazing!

The ceremonies are set to be directed by Danny Boyle, the director of box-office hit 'Slumdog Millionaire' and now we've heard that a former Beatle might be thrown into the mix as well!

Sir Paul McCartney has kept quite coy about the whole affair, although he has inferred that he has definitely been asked to do something for the event:

"In actual fact I am seeing the guy tomorrow, funnily enough, because there is something they want me to do... I won't know until tomorrow."

Well, we hope he'll be lending his vocals to the affair, especially now that the Government has increased the budgets for the opening and closing ceremonies by an extra £41m. That money has just GOT to go somewhere good!

However, Beatles fans needn't despair if this all turns out to be nothing more than a rumour, as Paul has also suggested that he might be involved in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee:

"I think she's great and I think she does a great job... so if I get asked I could easily do it."

That's the attitude we like to see Paul! We look forward to seeing you on stage...
