With such a troubled childhood, it’s no surprise that Ben Mitchell hasn’t turned out to be a normal, well-rounded young man.
In a shocking new storyline, EastEnders writers have decided that disturbed Ben Mitchell will turn into a cold-blooded killer, his hands dripping in Heather’s blood as he leaves her flat after the pair have a violent row.
According to reports, no one will spot the teen, and dad Phil will lend his son a helping hand as he tries to destroy any evidence of what his son has done.
His son’s actions will make life very difficult for hardman Phil, played by Steve McFadden, as his girlfriend Shirley, devastated by her friend’s death, suspects him of foul play.
As well as Phil, other suspects for Heather’s bloody death will include Darren Miller and Ian Beale, and also Andrew Cotton who recently proposed to her.
A EastEnders spokesman revealed to The Sun: "Heather's life will go through various twists and turns over the next couple of months which will place numerous people in the frame."
Heather, played by actress Cheryl Fergison, filmed her last scenes on Tuesday, and will be warmly remembered for her love of cheese and karaoke.
Cheryl was said to have been devastated when told of her exit from the show. She had hoped for an A-list cameo from her character's idol George Michael and for a heart-warming exit, however this death means that she will never have the opportunity to return to the popular soap.
An EastEnders insider commented: "Heather's exit stuns the Square. Everyone is looking over their shoulder wondering who is responsible."
Cheryl's untimely exit was thought to be due to a recent news piece detailing her relationship and subsequent marriage to Moroccan toyboy lover Yassine Al-Jermini, 25, who has moved to Britain to be with the soap star.
