She won a Golden Globe for her performance as the sexiest screen siren of them all, Marilyn Monroe but actress Michelle Williams has revealed that she doesn’t think she is sexy.
The actress, who won for her role in ‘My Week With Marilyn’ admitted that although she plays the curvaceous blonde on screen she doesn’t feel particularly sexy in any of her film roles.
She told GQ Magazine: “I wouldn't say that that would be one of my first qualities as a human being – being sexy.
“Sexuality has been a part of my work, obviously – Blue Valentine – but it's never been sexy. It hasn't been beautiful.”
The actress, who is also nominated for a Bafta for her turn as Marilyn, blamed her first role as Dawson’s Creek highly sexual teen Jen Lindley as making her wary of to sex on screen and how it could affect her career.
The 31 year old said: “I saw all the negative attention and connotations that can come along with that. And that those things can keep people from seeing you clearly.”
Michelle dedicated her win on Sunday for Best Comedy Actress to her daughter Matilda.
The actress admitted that she struggled following the death of Matilda’s father Heath Ledger in 2008 but knows it will be harder for the six year-old who did not have long with her father before his death.
She said: “You know, as hard as certain things have been for me, it's been harder thinking about how things will be for her. I have a lot of things that she doesn't.”
