After Alesha Dixon was enticed over to ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, BBC bosses have been desperately searching for a suitable replacement for the popular ballroom dancing show.
And fiery judge Bruno, being characteristically vocal, has nominated previous winner and former EastEnders actress Kara Tointon.
Alesha Dixon joined the judging panel after winning series five, controversially replacing mature dancer Arlene Phillips. Now with Alesha’s seat open, several past contestants have been rumoured to be in talks with BBC bosses, however Bruno believes Kara should be frontrunner for the position.
According to the Metro, he said: “I think Kara would be very good as a replacement as she is a champion and feisty. Jill Halfpenny would also be very good for the same reasons. I don't think a decision will be made until June or July when we have regrouped.”
The Italian choreographer has not hidden his sadness at Alesha’s departure, especially seeing as Strictly Come Dancing regularly gets more viewers than the ITV talent show.
Commenting on the singer’s new job, Bruno said: “I'm surprised Alesha quit, but that's the industry and I think she will be great on Britain's Got Talent. We'll carry on and we will come back bigger and better than ever.”
