Nick Cannon has paid tribute to his wife Mariah Carey and claims that she is his "hero" at the BET Honors Awards this weekend.
The couple walked the red carpet just weeks after Cannon was rushed to hospital with mild kidney failure earlier this year and he thanked his wife for taking such care of him.
As he held his son eight-month-old Moroccan and presenter Mariah with the Entertainer Award, he said: "When times are hard, you guys don't see her at 3 o'clock in the morning, getting up in the middle of the night, fixing me soup when my kidneys ain't acting right. Mariah Carey does that."
The America's Got Talent added: "It is truly, truly a blessing to be here tonight, and I am humbled and in awe of everyone's presence, but mostly my hero right there. What most people don't get the opportunity to experience is the true woman; the virtuous person who is my angel."
"To my incredible husband who [has been] out of the hospital two days - look at him all strong and healthy and big and too buff for the tux - it's incredible," Mariah said and she also jokingly referred to her daughter Monroe's absence.
"And Miss Monroe Cannon's backstage, darling. We were both sewn into our dresses, so she couldn't make it out."
At the event, Mariah was honoured with a musical tribute from stars such as Patti LaBelle, who sang 'Hero' and also Kelly Rowland who teamed up with rapper Raekwon for Mariah's hit 'Fantasy'. Tweeting after the event, Mariah wrote to Kelly & Raekwon.
"@KELLYROWLAND Dear Kelly, thank you so much for the a+++mazing tribute at the BET honors last night. I can't wait for your fans to see how great you were. You've no idea how much I appreciate you. x0xo," she tweeted.
