The Golden Globes may have been held in America, but the night definitely belonged to the Brits as Kate Winslet, Idris Elba and Downton Abbey all received awards.
Kate, who was at the ceremony in California with new boyfriend Ned Rocknroll, picked up the gong for Best Actress in Miniseries or TV Movie for her role in Mildred Pierce.
Accepting her award, wearing a stunning black and white floor length gown, the actress said: “I'd like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for giving this award to me and for putting me in a category with such incredible heavyweights whom I feel honoured to stand alongside.”
Dedicating her award to her children, Kate added: “I share this with my beautiful children Mia and Joe who light up my life every day, I'm so proud to their mum.”
Winning the award for Best Male in a Miniseries or TV Movie was Hackney born Idris Elba for his role in the BBC drama Luther.
Having proven to be a success on both sides of the Atlantic, Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellows said in his acceptance speech for Best Miniseries or TV Movie: "How fabulous this is.
"The whole Downton adventure has been an extraordinary one. Like spotting a promising child and waking up to find they've have won the Olympics - and that's what we've lived through."
