The mysterious absence of The Saturdays' Vanessa White at a recent concert has been blamed on illness.

The vocal powerhouse raised concern among fans when she was seen leaving the London venue in costume and in floods of tears shortly before the quintet were due on stage at the Tickled Pink event.

Speculation mounted when Rochelle Wiseman congratulated bandmate Una Healy on performing whilst heavily pregnant - but there was no explanation, or even acknowledgement, addressing the lack of Vanessa.

But a source tells MailOnline: "She did the sound check and the media conference but came over all funny and was taken to a doctor so missed the gig."

Frankie Sandford was forced by doctors to go "part-time" due to a medical condition in late 2011, but has now resumed all duties with the band.

Little Mix and Alexandra Burke also performed at the event on Thursday, with the former's Jesy Nelson showing off a noticeably slimmer figure.
