Former Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett is today recovering from a terrifying ordeal after a group of thugs set their vicious dog on her.
It is thought that the actress, who used to play Jo Sugden on the soap in 2008, was on a train when the unnamed thugs lifted their Staffordshire bull terrier to her face, according to The Sun.
Despite pulling the emergency cord after being threatened, the guards failed to get to her in time and catch the thugs who fled when the train came to a stop.
Of the incident, a source said: "They started out by calling her by her Emmerdale name and their abuse got nastier and nastier.
"They started saying how she must think she's better than everyone else because she chose to ignore them. She was petrified and thought the dog was going to rip her to pieces."
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police confirmed that they are "investigating abusive behaviour"
Roxanne's spokesperson has declined to comment.
