The birth of Hollywood royalty was not going to be turned into a "media circus", so Beyonce and Jay-Z agreed to hire in special security for their daughter Blue.
The couple welcomed their first-born on Saturday (January 7) and have released a statement stating that they were "in heaven" following the birth, but ahead of the new arrival, Beyonce and Jay-Z meticulously planned extra security to make sure "everything went to plan".
"Only the closest family members and friends were told about the birth. Both mum and dad's security team met with hospital officials a week before the birth to make sure everything went to plan," a source told The Huffington Post.
"They refused to allow the birth of their daughter to be a media circus. Ever since the birth, extra security has been added, watching baby and mum 24/7, making Blue Ivy the youngest celebrity in the world to have her own protection."
Even though the couple are fully aware of their celebrity status and the "enormous interest" that does surround their private lives, neither of them want to loosen up.
"Don't expect this public hunger to change the attitude of these two, who decided a long time ago that what they did for a living was for everyone to enjoy, but a private life is just that," the insider added.
No magazine deals then... *sad face*
Yesterday, we revealed that Beyonce and Jay-Z bought baby Blue a $600,000 solid gold rocking horse.
