Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan appear to have revealed that the original Sugababes line-up are recording with Professor Green.

The singers, along with Siobhan Donaghy, were the founding members of the trio back in 1998, and tweeted last night that they were in the studio with the 'Read All About It' star.

Buena said: "@ studio wit professor green in tha building and two beautiful ladies", whilst Buchanan wrote: "Hanging out in the studio with @professorgreen and two lovely ladies with bags of talent :-p lol".

It is not known whether the trio, who do not currently have a group name, have a recording contract.

Doherty left the group after one album in 2001 amid reports of in-fighting with Buchanan. She was replaced by Heidi Range.

Buena bowed out in 2005 after giving birth to a daughter, to be replaced by Amelle Berrabah. Buchanan was then sacked in 2009 after allegedly bullying Berrabah and Range to the point where they threatened to quit. Eurovision star Jade Ewen took her place.

The fourth line-up released their latest single 'Freedom' for free in 2011 after the track generated little interest from radio stations. They currently have "no plans".

Range is due to participate on the new series of Dancing On Ice, which begins on Sunday.
