Dolly Parton thinks Miley Cyrus has been unfairly scrutinised by the media as she has grown up.
In recent months a representative for the former Hannah Montana star has had to deny that she was being sincere when she said she has smoked "way too much f***ing weed", and she has also hit back at a 'fan' branding her an "a**hole".
Parton said: "I remember myself at her age. We've all been a bit too hard on her."
Speaking to Parade, she added: "I hope she holds it together because there's a world of things she can do. She should keep an eye on things and make wise decisions."
Asked whether she is a diva, the '9 to 5' singer insisted: "Oh, no! I’m a working girl. I don’t make people bend over backwards, and I don’t like that in people. I am definitely no diva."
Miley is currently tipped to be recording a duet with Shakira for a children's charity.
