David Beckham has rejected a lucrative deal to return to Europe and play for Paris Saint Germain.
The footballer, who won the MLS title last November with LA Galaxy, was in talks with the French team but according to the club's sporting director Leonardo, "It's over".
In an interview with L'Equipe, Leonardo said: "It's over. It's a shame. But the welfare of his family in Los Angeles, the wish not to change everything in his life, weighed heavily."
Beckham, whose family moved to LA four years ago, and have now set up home there among friends that include Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Eva Longoria. Leonardo also added: "He will not come to PSG".
It's now expected that the 36-year-old will sign a new deal with LA Galaxy.
