Harry Potter actress Emma Watson's new pixie style and Justin Bieber's 'swish' style have been named as the most influential hairstyles of 2011.
Since the stars debuted their new styles this year, hairdressers have been receiving requests to emulate their looks (think the Rachel cut).
Move over Jennifer Aniston, as the Wall Street Journal, reports: "Hairstylists are being inundated with requests.
The enthusiasm plays out online, where the fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber."
According to the report, the pixie cut is hugely significant because short hair hasn't been popular with women for over a decade, "short hair hasn't been trendy since the 90s".
Since Emma, 21, debuted her hairstyle we've been dying to know what made her cut off her locks and the actress revealed that it was a way to exorcise Hermione Granger and the 'Harry Potter' franchise from her life.
"I'm 20 now, so I'm not a child any more," she has previously explained. "I've been on 'Harry Potter' for 10 years now, so I felt the need to mark the end of it in some way - I needed some way to say to myself, 'Right, you're entering a new phase of your life now'. I needed a change, and that's what the haircut is about."
