Melanie Amaro has been crowned winner of the X Factor USA.
The 19-year-old hopeful from Florida, who revealed in a recent interview that she should win the competition because she's worked the hardest, had her dreams come true last night when host Steve Jones announced that she had been crowned the first winner of the show.
Unable to speak following the announcement, Melanie, who was in the final three with Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene who came in at second and third place respectively, Melanie was just heard saying: "Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God."
Speaking about Melanie's win, mentor Simon Cowell said: "I want to say, America, thank you for giving this girl an opportunity.
"This is an amazing moment for me, you are not going to get a word out of her Steve!"
Despite not being able to verbalise how she felt after she heard she'd won, Melanie, who won a $5 million recording contract and a starring role in a Pepsi commercial, managed to belt out Beyonce's 'Listen', the song that she impressed the judges with at her audition and during Wednesday's final performance round.
