The Wanted Awarded Album Of The Year By Entertainmentwise Readers

Entertainmentwise readers have decided that The Wanted's new album Battleground has been the best pop record of 2011.

Fans of the quintet stormed our exclusive poll, which put 20 of the year's top releases up for your votes.

Battleground, which includes the singles 'Glad You Came', 'Lightning', 'Gold Forever' and 'Warzone', amassed a huge 57.17% of the votes - more than the other 19 nominees combined.

A distant runner-up was Rebecca Ferguson, whose critically-acclaimed debut Heaven collected 12.66%. Fellow X Factor star Matt Cardle took the bronze medal with Letters, scoring 9.79%.

Albums by Adele, Cher Lloyd, Florence + The Machine and Britney Spears were among those that finished in the bottom half of the results. Surprisingly, Lady GaGa's widely popular Born This Way finished last, with less than half a percent of the votes.
