Dame Helen Mirren is giving away the red bikini that had a starring role in one of her most well-known photographs.
The actress was snapped in the garment on holiday in Italy in 2008, and joked earlier this year that the photo will "haunt" her forever.
Speaking on Daybreak today, she revealed that money raised from the competition will go towards Age UK's 'Spread The Warmth' campaign, which was launched last year in the wake of 200 elderly people dying from the cold weather.
Mirren said of the picture: "It was just one of those tsunami of a kind of a moment in one's life that was out of my control. There was nothing I could do about it and I just had to go with the flow, so to speak. It was kind of a shock that anybody would be remotely interested in what I look like in a bikini, but there you go, it happened and I've been dealing with it ever since!"
Of the bikini, she said: "It happens to be one of the best bikinis in the world because it fits. The minute I bought it, I loved it because it's so hard to find a bikini that fits if you've got bosoms like I have, and so this one did fit so I did love it.
"I'm saying farewell to it a little bit regretfully, but hopefully it will go to someone who will fill it with as much aplomb as maybe I did."
The competition closes on Friday, December 9.
