Elton John has agreed to continue with his Australian tour even though his partner David Furnish is suffering from a mystery illness that has caused him to fly thousands of miles away to Los Angeles for treatment.
The 49-year-old joined the 'Rocket Man' singer when the tour began in Sydney last week, but soon rushed for emergency medical treatment over 7,500 miles away.
Elton, 64, considered cancelling the tour to be with Furnish but has since decided against it after discussions with his promoters.
"They have been having a great time since they arrived last week but David suddenly took ill and has flown back to Los Angeles for specialist treatment," a source told Sydney Daily Telegraph.
"David had various appointments and engagements set up during the tour but he's had to cancel them. Elton was obviously extremely distressed, and his first instinct was to leave the tour to be with his partner when he was ill."
The insider also added: "But he spoke to his old friend Michael Chugg who is promoting the tour, and in the end they decided the tour - the show - should go on."
David and Elton married in 2005 and also have a son, Zachary, together.
