Pop duo Pepsi & Shirlie have insisted that George Michael's health is improving following a run-in with severe pneumonia.
The former Wham! backing vocalists, Helen De Macque and Shirlie Kemp, appeared on ITV's Lorraine today to discuss the singer's illness.
Shirlie said: "He's on the mend, he's doing very well."
Pepsi added: "He's very well cared for. We've been told not to speculate – just be very positive. So he's healing and he's in good care."
Discussing his remaining tour dates, Shirlie said he was extremely disappointed to have cancelled.
"He was having such fun, because I spoke to him and he said, 'Oh I'm really enjoying it'," she said. "And I could tell that at the Albert Hall that he loved it, so I'm sure he's feeling just as bad about cancelling."
The ladies released albums in 1987 and 1991, and provided backing vocals on Geri Halliwell's 'Bag It Up' in 2000.
