Fans of Gossip Girl can breathe a sigh of relief following executive producer Joshua Safran's claims that the popular show will return to our screens for another season.
Revealing to Entertainment Weekly that he hasn't heard anything to indicate that we've seen the last of Blair, Chuck and Dan, Joshua said:
"We've had no-one saying to us, 'Wrap it up. This is the last season'. So we're not (treating the season finale) as such."
Agreeing with Joshua, Peter Roth, president of Warner Bros Television, added that he would like to see the show to carry on for more than a year.
He said: "I can't really say at this point, but I would hope and expect that there would be at least another year - if not years - to come."
The series, which is in it's fifth season will return in the new year after a two month break.
The cast celebrate 100 episodes in style...
