One Direction are looking good for Number One with their new single 'Gotta Be You', according to this week's Official UK Chart Update.
Radio 1's Greg James announced the latest midweek rankings on his show this afternoon.
The boyband currently have a very narrow lead over the current chart-topper from Rihanna, with Flo Rida at No. 3. Soaring sales of his new single 'Good Feeling' make him a serious threat to the X Factor finalists, who risk losing the top spot before the final rundown is announced on Sunday.
There's bad news for The Saturdays, whose new single 'My Heart Takes Over' has clearly suffered the absence of Frankie Sandford during promotion, and is likely to be only their second single to date to miss the Top 10. 'Lighthouse', the last ever single from Westlife, is also performing below expectation as it clings on at the wrong end of the Top 20.
Over on the album chart, Snow Patrol are commanding a marginal lead over JLS' new album Jukebox as Susan Boyle drops right down to No. 7.
Pixie Lott is faring disappointingly with her second album Young Foolish Happy, which is currently showing at No. 14. Her first album Turn It Up sold a million copies and was in the charts for 96 weeks.
Parade, who last week told Entertainmentwise they were "nervous and excited" to be releasing their debut LP, are not in the Top 40 at all.
